An energy system built around the existing warehouses
At the Flexistock Brussels South – City Dox site in Anderlecht, Powerland built a complete energy system around the existing buildings: solar panels on the roofs, a battery storing surplus production, and a mixed charging park of fast and slower charge points. A project of this power (two ultra-fast chargers of 400 kW each, alongside twelve AC charging points) requires more power than a standard connection can deliver. So the site got its own 630 kVA medium-voltage substation, requested and realised together with grid operator Sibelga.
The solution
☀️ 274 kWp of solar panels
464 DMEGC panels of 590 Wp on the flat roofs, oriented east-west and south, driven by three Solis inverters.
🔋 233 kWh of battery storage
A compact, liquid-cooled Elecnova battery cabinet (100 kW power) absorbs production peaks and supplies power when the charge points need it.
⚡ 2x 400 kW of ultra-fast charging
Two Alpitronic Hypercharger HYC400-4 units, each capable of charging 3 vehicles at once, together providing 4 DC charging points up to 500 A (prepared for 600 A) and 800 kW of combined power.
🔌 12 AC charging points
Six dual Etrel Inch Pro chargers of 22 kW, for those staying longer on site.
🏭 Its own medium-voltage substation
A new 630 kVA substation with its own transformer and grid disconnection board makes the entire combination of solar, battery and charging infrastructure possible on a single connection.
🧠 EMS & control
A Voltmasters energy management system coordinates production, storage and consumption, with remote monitoring reporting to the grid operator.
What made the difference
One partner for the whole project: from the medium-voltage connection and groundworks to solar panels, battery, charging infrastructure and operation as CPO. Fast and slower charging on the same site, serving both those who need to move on quickly and those staying longer. And standout visibility from the road: an illuminated price totem displays charging rates, just like at a classic filling station.
