Geeraerd Porsche Centre is the official Porsche dealer for Knokke-Heist and the surrounding area, based on the Natiënlaan. Like many premium dealerships, its fleet and customer offering are electrifying fast — a shift that demands an electrical infrastructure able to keep pace.

Powerland approached this in phases. In 2021, the project didn't start with the chargers themselves but with the foundation: the existing high-voltage cabin was reinforced to 400 kVA, with a new oil-cooled Siemens transformer, a new high-voltage metering cell and a fully renewed low-voltage distribution board. Without that step, the site simply wouldn't have had the power margin for additional charging capacity.

On top of that reinforced grid connection came the charging infrastructure itself: first Etrel AC chargers with load balancing, later complemented by a public 50 kW Alpitronic DC fast charger. Every charge point — AC and DC — runs on the My.Powerland CPO platform, which centralises billing, roaming and management.

What made the difference

By starting with the grid connection rather than the chargers, Geeraerd Porsche Centre avoided a classic pitfall: ordering chargers only to find the existing connection can't carry the load. Reinforcing the cabin in 2021 created enough headroom to add AC and DC charging capacity in later phases without repeatedly hitting a grid limit.
