Two AC charging points on the warehouse wall and a 150 kW DC fast charger at the edge of the car park: Deroo Constructie brings two charging technologies together on the same site.
Deroo
Poperinge
Charging during a longer stay or topping up more quickly: at Deroo Constructie, AC and DC charging infrastructure share the same business premises.
Deroo Constructie — PoperingeA metal fabrication business with EV charging
Deroo Constructie manufactures trailers and metal structures for agriculture, industry and construction. At its premises in Poperinge, the company had charging infrastructure installed to support electric vehicle use.
Powerland installed two smart ETREL AC charging points on the warehouse wall. A 150 kW Alpitronic DC fast charger was installed at the edge of the car park. The project brings two charging methods together at one location.
AC charging and DC fast charging on one site
How long a vehicle stays parked helps determine which charging solution is practical. AC charging suits longer stays. DC fast charging offers a way to top up in less time, for vehicles that support this charging technology.
How do the two charging technologies work?
Both technologies are present at Deroo Constructie. The AC charging points are mounted on the warehouse wall, while the DC fast charger stands separately at the edge of the car park.
With AC charging, the charging point supplies alternating current. The vehicle’s onboard charger converts it to direct current for the battery. Charging power therefore also depends on how much AC power the vehicle can accept.
With DC charging, that conversion takes place inside the fast charger, which supplies direct current straight to the vehicle battery. The stated 150 kW rating does not mean every car charges at a constant rate: the vehicle, battery temperature and state of charge are among the factors that determine how much power it accepts at any given time.
The installation: ETREL and Alpitronic
For this installation, Powerland fitted two smart ETREL AC charging points and one Alpitronic DC fast charger. These are the two components of the project.

2 smart AC charging points
Two ETREL charging points mounted on the warehouse wall. A charging solution for vehicles parked for longer periods.
Mounted on the warehouse wall
Both ETREL AC charging points are fitted to the warehouse façade. The existing wall provides the mounting location.

AC: charging with alternating current
With AC charging, the vehicle’s onboard charger converts alternating current to direct current for the battery.
DC: straight to the battery
With DC charging, the conversion takes place in the fast charger. The vehicle receives direct current to charge its battery.
The project at a glance
- ✅ Mounted on the warehouse wall — Two smart ETREL AC charging points fitted to the existing warehouse façade.
- ✅ A separate fast charger — An Alpitronic DC unit with a charging power of 150 kW at the edge of the car park.
- ✅ Two technologies on one site — Both AC charging and DC fast charging form part of the installation.
- ✅ The power accepted by the vehicle — How much power the vehicle can accept helps determine the actual charging speed.
- ✅ The battery plays a part — During fast charging, battery temperature and state of charge also affect how much power it accepts.
- ✅ A clearly defined installation — Powerland installed two smart ETREL AC charging points and one 150 kW Alpitronic DC fast charger.
