My.Powerland
MIG Motors wanted customers and employees to be able to charge at every location, on sites already running on green energy. In 2020, the company commissioned Vandotec and Powerland to roll out this plan at several locations at the same time. Since then, the charging network has grown in multiple phases across Ghent and the surrounding area.
The challenge
Each location has its own grid connection, parking layout and demand. At one site, one or two AC charging points were sufficient; at another, several charging points and a DC fast charger were added. A standard package for every location would therefore not work. Each site received a tailored design and sizing.
What made the difference?
- Phase by phase: the rollout started in 2020 and was expanded in 2023, 2024 and 2025, wherever demand grew.
- One platform: all charging points run through My.Powerland, with visibility into usage and tariffs.
- AC and DC: smart AC chargers for customers and employees, DC fast chargers at the larger sites.
- Bank card payment: the DC chargers are equipped with a payment terminal.
- One partner: supply, installation and management through the same group.
