Frequently asked questions

Home batteries

Yes, especially with solar panels, dynamic tariffs and high evening consumption.

Some models offer a backup function. We advise you on this.

On average 10 to 20 years, depending on use and technology.

Between 5 and 15 kWh for most families. We calculate this exactly.

With a home battery, some technical terms determine how long and how well your battery performs.

DoD (Depth of Discharge)
Indicates how much percentage of the battery you can use daily.
For example: 90% DoD means you can use almost the full capacity.

Number of cycles
This is the number of times the battery can fully charge and discharge. The higher this number, the longer the lifespan.

LFP and NMC
These are two battery technologies.
LFP is known for its safety and long lifespan.
NMC for its high energy density.

Yes, many systems are modularly expandable.

Yes. The battery stores solar energy that you can later use for your heat pump, charging station and evening consumption at home.

That depends on the type of inverter you already have for your solar panels.

You have a hybrid inverter
Then the battery can usually be connected directly to the same inverter. You don't need an extra inverter.

You have a classic (string) inverter
Then an additional battery inverter IS needed to make the battery work together with your solar panels and home.

Powerland always first examines your existing installation and chooses the solution that is technically most logical and cost-effective.

Not every quote is equally clearly structured. Therefore pay attention to these points:

Power of the installation (kWp or kWh)
Do not compare the number of panels, but the total power being installed.

Brand and type of panels, inverter or battery
Quality and warranty vary greatly per brand.

Inverter: classic or hybrid
This determines whether you can easily add a battery later without extra costs.

Does the installation provide for future expansion?
Think of an electric car, heat pump or extra battery capacity.

Monitoring and follow-up via app
Can you monitor production, consumption and battery status?

Placement and cabling
How is the installation technically executed? This determines safety and lifespan.

Inspection and administration included
Is the AREI inspection provided? Will the registration with the grid operator be done?

Warranty and service after placement
Who monitors the installation in case of questions or problems?

A good quote takes into account your home, your consumption and your future plans - not just the price.
